About Screener by Innerkore
Screener by Innerkore is a free research tool for companies listed on India's NSE and BSE. It reads the exchanges' own filings, computes more than 400 metrics for every company with published formulas, and lets you screen, compare, chart and backtest them. It is built and run by Innerkore.
Where the data comes from
- Financial results from the XBRL filings that NSE and BSE publish for every quarter and year; where XBRL is not available (older periods), from the results documents themselves, with every figure checked against the statements' own totals.
- Shareholding (promoters, FIIs, DIIs, public) from the exchanges' quarterly shareholding-pattern filings.
- Prices from the exchanges' end-of-day files, adjusted for splits and bonus issues using their corporate-action records. Prices are closes, not live quotes.
- Announcements from the exchanges' corporate-filing feeds.
How the figures are computed
- Every metric has a formula shown on the metrics reference. Trailing-twelve-month figures add up the last four reported quarters; growth rates compare financial years; percentile ranks compare a company with its industry group.
- Consolidated or standalone. Consolidated figures are used by default. Where a company's consolidated history is three years or shorter and its standalone history is six years or longer, standalone figures are used for the whole page so that growth and averages have enough history, and the page says so.
- Blank, not wrong. When a metric does not apply or the data is too thin, it is left blank. Accounts older than about eighteen months are treated as stale. A blank is never a zero.
- Banks and NBFCs use their own metrics; measures that make no sense for lenders are not computed for them.
Checks on the data
Figures are cross-checked against the exchanges' XBRL, statement totals must add up, and values that jump by a power of ten against their neighbours are quarantined and not published. The coverage page is generated from the live database every night and shows exactly how many companies each metric covers.
AI features
The AI brief on a company page is a short summary written by an AI model from the numbers on the page. Every sentence cites the facts behind it, and a sentence whose numbers cannot be matched to those facts is removed. It can still be wrong or incomplete: check the figures against the filings.
Limits
Data is end-of-day and refreshed nightly. Newly listed companies have short histories, and some metrics need years of data. The data can contain errors despite the checks. Nothing on this site is investment advice; read the disclaimer and the FAQ.
